Welcome to the Lanekeep Letter

Welcome to the Lanekeep Letter
Me, sadly watching my grandma's hand-me-down Volvo get donated to charity in 1999 with 160,000 miles on the clock.

I'm launching something I've been working on for 40 years.

When I was 8, my grandmother asked me to help her find a new car. After studying my Car & Driver magazines, I presented her with a ranked list. My top pick? A Ford Taurus SHO. She went with No. 4 on the list — a Volvo 740 GLE — based on my pitch: "You'll never need to buy another car, Grandma!" (My mom gasped.)

While I spent my career in music and marketing (SPIN, Spotify, creative projects for brands like Kia, VW, and Audi), I never stopped being that kid poring over car specs. I became the go-to resource for friends and family hunting for their next vehicle — cutting through the hype to help them make smart decisions based on their actual needs.

Now I'm making it official.

Introducing Lanekeep: personalized car-buying guidance focused on getting people into the right hybrid or EV for their life and budget. As a dad, it matters to me that we make informed decisions about the environmental impact of the cars we drive.

I offer personalized research, market analysis, negotiation support, and ongoing advisory informed by deep market knowledge and custom tools.

Here on the Lanekeep Letter, my plan is to discuss all things related to the green car buying experience, from trends in the industry to conversations with experts to car buying insights — and it hope to appeal to regular folks and car crazed cats alike.

But that’s not all! I'm also launching Lanekeep Labs — strategic thinking and creative services for automotive brands, mobility startups, and charging networks. Brand strategy, campaign concepting, creative workshops, and experiential strategy — translating gearhead into vernacular for real consumers. Built upon my past work for Spotify Advertising, Kia, VW, Audi, Capital One, Memorial Sloan Kettering, and dozens more.

That Volvo, BTW? We donated it in 1999 (as pictured above) with over 160,000 miles (and my grandmother was driving her new Lexus to play tennis). Turns out, my 8-year-old self was onto something. Hopefully, the delivery has improved since then.
